The International Students Association of Texas (ISAT) is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization dedicated to providing comprehensive assistance to international students. We are committed to assisting them in achieving their goals of studying abroad and embracing American culture while celebrating unity in diversity. Our goal is to foster an environment in which international students can flourish academically, culturally, and socially.
International students, ISAT’s member, current Community College or University students may apply. Students should have a minimum GPA of 2.9 or higher. Preference will be given to students who plan to or currently attend a college or university that is located in Texas - although this is not a requirement- and plan to complete their associate or bachelor’s degree in a timely manner.
- This is a one-time scholarship per calendar year. Applicants are encouraged to apply every year for the Scholarship.
- Applicant must be either currently attending or accepted to an accredited college in the State of Texas with a declared major. Students may attend a community college and then transfer to any University.
- Student must hold a current legal immigration status.
- Applicant must be a current ISAT’s member. Note: the Membership is free)
- The scholarship must first be used to cover the cost of tuition, books, and fees. The remainder may be used for other related expenses, including but not limited to, living expenses such as housing, food, and transportation.
- Applicant must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.9 each semester.
1. Complete the attached application form. Must be enrolled in accredited Senior High School, College, or University in USA with legal immigration status.
2. Submit prove of enrollment in accredited Senior High School, College, or University in USA
3. Submit a copy of your current legal proof of residency.
4. Submit two letters of recommendation from either your teachers and/or employers.
These should state how long you have been acquainted, what the nature of the relationship is, comments about your character and abilities, and any other information you would like the committee to consider.
3. Prepare and attach an essay of at least 500 words (typed, double-spaced, 12-point font, no more than two pages long), describing your experience traveling to the United States to study, your career goals, your reasons for choosing these goals and what you have done thus far to prepare yourself and how you hope to give back to your community one day.
4. Attach an official transcript of your grades from your high school and/or college (if you have begun taking classes).
